Baseball Recap: Ridgeland Takes a Loss

Ridgeland fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against LaFayette on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ramblers. The Panthers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it seven in a row.

Ridgeland got a big performance out of Joey Hayes, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Bryson Duke was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-5.

Ridgeland now has a losing record of 8-9. As for LaFayette, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-8.

While Ridgeland had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
