Basketball Recap: JW North Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Brijanae Ward and Jazlene Molina

JW North lost against Rancho Verde back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The JW North Huskies came up short against the Rancho Verde Mustangs, falling 54-30. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

JW North's loss came despite strong showings from Jazlene Molina and Brijanae Ward. Molina posted six points, while Ward earned six points and 14 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Ward a new career-high in boards. Sumayah Rhett was another key player, putting up two points and four steals.

Even though they lost, JW North smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in seven consecutive contests.

JW North's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Rancho Verde, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-9.

JW North wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 35-21 loss against Hemet on the 23rd. Rancho Verde has also already played their next match, a 58-22 victory against Liberty on the 23rd.
