Recap: Muir Mustangs vs. Burroughs Bears
The Muir Mustangs lost against the Burroughs Bears back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Muir was dealt a 67-37 defeat at the hands of Burroughs. Muir was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-11.
Mariam Fahs was her usual excellent self, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and four steals for Burroughs. The matchup was Fahs' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elizabeth Amoroso, who scored seven points along with seven steals and five rebounds.
Muir has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Burroughs, their win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Muir will face off against Burbank at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Burroughs, they will head out on the road to face off against Glendale at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Glendale will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 284th, while Burroughs is ranked 126th).
