Football Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends South Plantation's Winning Streak + How To Watch

South Plantation dropped down to 6-2 on Friday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins. They took a 56-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cooper City Cowboys. The Paladins gained 197 more yards on the day, but it was the Cowboys that made the best use of them.

Several Paladins players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kamary Cooper, who rushed for 171 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries, and also picked up 93 receiving yards and one TD. Cooper is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 151 every time he's taken the field this season. Another signal caller making a difference was Nixon Kalish, who threw for 461 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per attempt.

As for Cooper City, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-3. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their seven-point performance the matchup before.

Cooper City's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ace Taylor, who rushed for 140 yards and three TDs, and also picked up 33 receiving yards. Taylor is becoming a predictor of the Cowboys' success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is undefeated (and 1-3 when he doesn't). Cooper City also got a significant boost from Ricky Martin, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 94 yards.

South Plantation wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 55-0 defeat against McArthur on the 23rd. As for Cooper City, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 34-27 loss against Cypress Bay on the 24th.
