Softball Recap: Lamar Comes Up Short

Lamar lost against Palmer Ridge back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Thunder fell just short of the Bears by a score of 4-3.

Carlin Weber spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lamar saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Khloe Fernandez, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Lamar's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Palmer Ridge, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-2.

Lamar wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 5-2 loss against Pueblo Central on the 13th. As for Palmer Ridge, they will head out to challenge Lewis-Palmer at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bears are facing the Rangers at the right time seeing as the Rangers are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
