Baseball Game Preview: Augusta Beavers vs. Independence/Gilmanton Indees

The Augusta Beavers will head out to take on the Independence/Gilmanton Indees at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither Augusta nor Independence/Gilmanton posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

On Friday, Augusta came up short against Cadott and fell 6-2.

Augusta saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryce Buttke, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Independence/Gilmanton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They came up short against Eleva-Strum, falling 19-1.

Augusta's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Independence/Gilmanton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-14.

Augusta was able to grind out a solid victory over Independence/Gilmanton in their previous matchup last Friday, winning 9-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Beavers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
