Basketball Recap: Horizon Prep Takes a Loss

Horizon Prep entered their contest against O'Farrell Charter on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Horizon Prep Lions fell just short of the O'Farrell Charter Falcons by a score of 29-27. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Lions have suffered since February 6, 2024.

Liona Rusom continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for O'Farrell Charter, putting up seven points along with eight boards and eight steals. Rusom is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Leshawna Stephens, who posted four points.

This is the second loss in a row for Horizon Prep and nudges their season record down to 14-4. As for O'Farrell Charter, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 14-7.

Horizon Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 40-21 victory against The Cambridge School on the 11th. As for O'Farrell Charter, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-4 win against Bayfront Charter on the 11th.
