Football Game Preview: South Hagerstown Rebels vs. Catoctin Cougars + How To Watch

The South Hagerstown Rebels will head out to square off against the Catoctin Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. South Hagerstown will be strutting in after a victory while Catoctin will be coming in after a defeat.

South Hagerstown is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They enjoyed a cozy 34-17 win over Governor Thomas Johnson on Friday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Rebels considering their seven-point performance the contest before.

Josiah Davis had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 221 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per carry, and also picked up 60 receiving yards and one score. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.

Davis was just one part of a punishing run game: South Hagerstown was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 221 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Governor Thomas Johnson only rushed for 44.

Meanwhile, Catoctin had to suffer through a 56-7 loss at the hands of Boonsboro. The Cougars have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

South Hagerstown's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Catoctin, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-3.

South Hagerstown couldn't quite get it done against Catoctin in their previous matchup back in September of 2022 as they fell 23-10. Can the Rebels avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
