Recap: Minarets Mustangs vs. Fresno Christian Eagles
The Minarets Mustangs lost against the Fresno Christian Eagles back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Minarets opened the new year with a less-than-successful 39-28 loss to Fresno Christian.
Fresno Christian found their leader in underclassman Sarah Guglielmana, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Guglielmana is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marisol Martinez, who scored 12 points along with seven steals.
Minarets' defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Fresno Christian, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-13.
Minarets will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against McLane at 3:00 p.m. on January 5th. As for Fresno Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Caruthers at 5:30 p.m. Caruthers presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Fresno Christian in California (Caruthers is ranked 72nd, while Fresno Christian is ranked 1021st).
