Soccer Game Preview: Morris vs. LaSalle-Peru

Morris is 2-8 against LaSalle-Peru since October of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. Morris will head out to face off against LaSalle-Peru at 6:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Morris is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Ottawa on Saturday. Morris took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ottawa.

Morris' goal came courtesy of Grant Sparrow, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, LaSalle-Peru lost 4-1 to Kaneland on Wednesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as LaSalle-Peru came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 126th, while Kaneland are ranked 311th).

Morris' loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for LaSalle-Peru, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-2.

Morris suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to LaSalle-Peru when the teams last played on September 10th. Can Morris avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
