Football Recap: Kirtland Central Falls to Valencia in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Kirtland Central unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were outmatched by the Valencia Jaguars and fell 48-6. The defeat continues a trend for the Broncos in their meetings with the Jaguars: they've now lost three in a row.

Valencia's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Michael Storms III, who rushed for 240 yards and four scores while picking up 10.4 yards per carry. Storms III's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his eighth straight game with at least 128 rushing yards dating back to last season. Santino Mares was in the mix as well, providing Valencia with two TDs.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kirtland Central will square off against Pagosa Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Valencia, they will challenge Gadsden at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
