Basketball Game Preview: California School for the Deaf Eagles vs. Fremont Christian Warriors

The California School for the Deaf Eagles will take on the Fremont Christian Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

California School for the Deaf saw some tournament action on Saturday. They snuck past New Mexico School for the Deaf with a 24-18 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given the Eagles' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 871st in California, while the Roadrunners are ranked 131st in New Mexico).

Meanwhile, Fremont Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch back in December of 2024 as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Redwood Christian an easy 43-19 victory. The contest marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

California School for the Deaf will have to contain Johanna So as she made an impact in Fremont Christian's last game. She posted 12 points.

California School for the Deaf has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.2 points per game. As for Fremont Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

California School for the Deaf came out on top in a nail-biter against Fremont Christian in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, sneaking past 36-33.
