The Greeley West Spartans will square off against the Loveland Red Wolves at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Greeley West will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Saturday, then bounced right back against Fort Collins on Tuesday. The Spartans blew past the Lambkins 10-4. Considering the Spartans have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Amaya Cron was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Hayden Atchley was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Josephine Gibson, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Greeley West kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are 8-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Loveland made sure to put some runs up on the board against Fairview on Saturday. The Red Wolves put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 12-5 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Red Wolves as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Ava Gintoli made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Gintoli was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Izabelle Tilton, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Norah Patella was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.
Greeley West now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Loveland, their victory bumped their record up to 7-12.
Loveland's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Greeley West has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Loveland, though, as they've been averaging 9.2 hits. Given Greeley West's sizable advantage in that area, the Red Wolves will need to find a way to close that gap.
