Basketball Recap: Central Mountain Triumphs

Central Mountain won the last time they faced South Williamsport and things went their way on Thursday too. The Central Mountain Wildcats walked away with a 62-55 victory over the South Williamsport Mountaineers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

South Williamsport's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ella Moore, who went 8-for-15 on her way to 23 points in addition to six steals and five boards. Those 23 points gave Moore a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Akers, who posted 19 points and three steals.

The win got Central Mountain back to even at 10-10. As for South Williamsport, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season.

Central Mountain didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 56-40 loss against Milton on the 14th. As for South Williamsport, they are taking a road trip to square off against Line Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
