Basketball Game Preview: Cheltenham Panthers vs. Mt. St. Joseph Academy Magic

The Cheltenham Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Mt. St. Joseph Academy Magic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cheltenham is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games.

Cheltenham is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. Everything went their way against Springfield Township on Tuesday as Cheltenham made off with a 77-53 victory. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Mt. St. Joseph Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 34-30 to Villa Maria Academy.

Cheltenham pushed their record up to 18-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for Mt. St. Joseph Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-12.

Cheltenham ended up a good deal behind Mt. St. Joseph Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, losing 53-39. Can Cheltenham avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
