On Friday Mission Bay's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 21-20 W against the Montgomery Aztecs. Those 21 points were actually the fewest the Buccaneers have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Trey Arnold was his usual excellent self, throwing for 188 yards and two TDs.

Despite the defeat, Montgomery saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Isaiah Mena-Malijan threw for 117 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 41 yards.

Mission Bay's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Montgomery, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-2.

Coming up, Mission Bay will be playing at home against Patrick Henry at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last. As for Montgomery, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on San Ysidro at 6:30 p.m. on October 10. The Aztecs' defense better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 29.5 points per game this season.
