Soccer Game Preview: Ridgeview vs. Highland

The Ridgeview Wolf Pack are taking a road trip to take on the Highland Scots at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ridgeview's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Ridgeview took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Bakersfield a 1-0 shutout. The victory was some much needed relief for the Wolf Pack as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Highland brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They put the hurt on Frontier with a sharp 4-0 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Scots, who have now won 16 contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Melissa Flores and Stephanie Cobos scored all four of Highland's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 42 goals.

The victory got Ridgeview back to even at 7-7. As for Highland, their win bumped their record up to 19-1-2.

Ridgeview suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Highland when the teams last played on January 7th. Can Ridgeview avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
