Basketball Game Preview: Glendale Vikings vs. North Star Cougars

Having just played yesterday, the Glendale Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the North Star Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Star took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Glendale, who comes in off a win.

On Monday, everything went Glendale's way against Northern Cambria as Glendale made off with a 55-29 victory. The Vikings pushed the score to 51-18 by the end of the third, a deficit the Colts cut but never quite recovered from.

Glendale's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madison Peterson, who posted 20 points. Peterson's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Leiden, who put up 14 points.

Meanwhile, North Star was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 56-10 loss at the hands of Windber. The matchup marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

North Star's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Glendale, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Glendale beat North Star 37-28 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Glendale since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
