Softball Recap: Pensacola Catholic Comes Up Short

After flying high against Booker T. Washington last Wednesday, Pensacola Catholic came back down to earth. Pensacola Catholic fell 12-9 to the Rocky Bayou Christian Knights on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Crusaders of the 15-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2018.

Morgan Smith made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Lela Laurence, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Pensacola Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Rocky Bayou Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

Coming up, Pensacola Catholic will face off against West Florida Baptist Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rocky Bayou Christian, they will challenge Laurel Hill at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
