Basketball Recap: Rebekah Shaffer's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pine-Richland over Shaler Area + How To Watch

Pine-Richland fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Shaler Area on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 45-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Titans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rams of the 35-34 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2024.

Pine-Richland's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rebekah Shaffer, who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Catherine Gentile, who earned ten points and four steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Pine-Richland and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Shaler Area, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Pine-Richland will take on Woodland Hills in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Shaler Area has already played their next contest (against Moon Area), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
