Football Recap: Sanderson Comes Up Short

Sanderson was the 44-43 winner over Marfa when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles took a 29-18 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Shorthorns on Friday.

Sanderson's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Marfa, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Sanderson will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Sierra Blanca at 5:00 p.m. on October 10. As for Marfa, they will head out to square off against Grandfalls-Royalty at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Shorthorns will need to watch out since the Cowboys have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups.
