Baseball Game Preview: Dacula Falcons vs. Winder-Barrow Bulldoggs

Dacula hasn't had much luck against Winder-Barrow recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Falcons will challenge the Bulldoggs at 3:00 p.m. Dacula is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.

Dacula's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Central Gwinnett as they made off with a 12-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won 13 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Jared Glenn was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Dacula is undefeated when Glenn posts two or more runs, but 8-10 otherwise.

In other batting news, Mj Allen and Reiston Durham did most of the damage at the plate: Allen scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Durham scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Durham is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last 11 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Reid Dzikowski, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Winder-Barrow suffered their biggest loss since March 12th on Thursday. They came up short against Flowery Branch, falling 11-1. The Bulldoggs haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Dacula's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-10. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Winder-Barrow, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-7.

Dacula couldn't quite get it done against Winder-Barrow when the teams last played back in February of 2024 as they fell 7-4. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
