Lincoln Southwest faced Papillion-LaVista in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Silver Hawks came out on top against the Monarchs by a score of 4-0. The victory was familiar territory for the Silver Hawks, who have now won eight contests in a row.

Lincoln Southwest saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Veronica Vela, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Lincoln Southwest's win bumped their record up to 19-1. As for Papillion-LaVista, they moved to 20-7 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lincoln Southwest is set to square off against their familiar foe Kearney at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Papillion-LaVista will take on rival Millard North at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Monarchs 3.1, the Mustangs 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
