It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Dunbar had no problem doing just that on Friday. Everything went their way against the Lackey Chargers as they made off with a 50-26 win. The Poets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by 24 points or more this season.
Kyrell Lynch was a one-man wrecking crew as he threw for 204 yards and four touchdowns on only 18 passes, and also rushed for 60 yards on only seven carries. Those 60 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Normauri Johnson also helped out with an impressive 80 receiving yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Dunbar was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 281 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 267 rushing yards in five consecutive contests.
Dunbar's victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Lackey, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-6.
