High school baseball: Louisiana pitcher Landon Victorian headlines Preseason MaxPreps All-America Team

Landon Victorian of Barbe (Lake Charles, La.), the MaxPreps National Junior of the Year in 2023, returns for his senior season of high school baseball with the Buccaneers and heads the 30-member Preseason MaxPreps All-America Team.

Victorian is a three-time MaxPreps Underclass All-American and is joined on the preseason squad by fellow three-time underclass picks Bryce Rainer of Harvard-Westlake (Studio City, Calif.), P.J. Morlando of Summerville (S.C.), Slade Caldwell of Valley View (Jonesboro, Ark.) and Derek Curiel of Orange Lutheran (Orange, Calif.). Preseason MaxPreps All-America Team

P — Landon Victorian, Barbe (Lake Charles, La.)
The MaxPreps National Junior of the Year in 2023, Victorian has a 39-1 record over the past three seasons. He went 8-0 in leading Barbe to its 12th state championship last year with a 0.97 ERA and 80 strikeouts in 50.1 innings pitched.

P — Chase Mobley, Durant (Plant City, Fla.)
Big frame at 6-foot-6, Mobley has emerged as a possible first round draft pick after hitting 97 miles per hour at the All-American Game. Played at Plant City last year where he had 48 strikeouts in 32 innings pitched.



P — Levi Sterling, Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks, Calif.)
Sterling was a standout for Notre Dame, which was the No. 1 seed in the Southern Section Divison 1 playoffs. He had 59 strikeouts in 38 innings with a 0.55 ERA.

P — William Schmidt, Catholic-B.R. (Baton Rouge, La.)
Schmidt went 5-1-1 for a Bears team that won the Division 1 Select state title with a 36-3 record. He earned all-state honors with 62 strikeouts in 52 innings pitched.

P — Anson Seibert, Blue Valley Southwest (Overland Park, Kan.)
There are few bigger or harder-throwing than Seibert, who stretches out to 6-9 and throws around 97 mph on the fastball. Made all-state second team last year by the coaches association.

P — Tegan Kuhns, Gettysburg (Pa.)
One of the top strikeout pitchers in the state, Kuhns fanned 61 batters in just 29 innings pitched last year while posting a 4-2 record with a 1.21 ERA.

P — Carson Wiggins, Roland (Okla.)
A standout in basketball and baseball, Wiggins (6-5) has hit as high as 99 mph on his fastball in the past year.

P — Cam Caminiti, Saguaro (Scottsdale, Ariz.)
The cousin of former MLB All-Star Ken Caminiti, Cam has reclassified to the Class of 2024 after making the MaxPreps Sophomore All-America Team last year. He batted .446 with 25 RBI, seven doubles and four RBI.



P — Ethan Schiefelbein, Corona (Calif.)
A member of the Los Angeles Times All-Area team and the MVP of the Riverside Press-Enteprise All-Area team, Schiefelbein went 7-1 on the mound with 94 strikeouts in 55 innings and a 0.64 ERA.

P — Noah Franco, IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.)
The top returning player for the defending MaxPreps National Champions, Franco went 4-0 on the mound with 47 strikeouts in 30 innings pitched. He also had a strong year at the plate, batting .320 with 13 RBI and three home runs.

C — Cade Arrambide, Tomball (Texas)
Made the coaches association's all-state team last year after batting .543. Ranked as the No. 2 catcher in the nation by Perfect Game.

C — Hunter Carns , First Coast (Jacksonville, Fla.)
Could be the first prep catcher taken in the 2024 MLB Draft. He batted .478 last year with 25 RBI and eight home runs.

C — Drew Rogers, Hamilton (Chandler, Ariz.)
Named the Metro Player of the Year in the Minneapolis area, Rogers transferred to Hamilton where he stands to be the top catcher in the state, if not the nation. He batted .400 last year with nine home runs and 46 RBI.

1B — Myles Bayley, Lincoln (Tallahassee, Fla.)
One of the top sluggers in the country, Bayley hit 10 home runs last year with 30 RBI while batting .389.



1B — Ryan Costello, Ranney (Tinton Falls, N.J.)
Costello ranks among the nation's top first basemen after batting .409 with four home runs last year.

IF — Samuel Richardson, Lewisburg (Olive Branch, Miss.)
Richardson earned all-state honors while leading Lewisburg to a Class 6A state championship. One of the top power hitters in the country after hitting 11 doubles, five triples and six home runs last year.

IF — Cade Brown, Parkview (Lilburn, Ga.)
One of the top home run hitters in the nation last year, Brown earned All-Gwinnett County honors after hitting 14 home runs with 52 RBI.

IF — Caleb Bonemer, Okemos (Mich.)
Made the coaches association Dream Team while batting .541 with 35 RBI and eight home runs.

IF — Owen Paino, Ketcham (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.)
Paino led Ketcham to a Class AA state championship and batted .425 with 35 RBI.

IF — Bryce Clavon, Kell (Marietta, Ga.)
An all-state quarterback, Clavon also ranks as one of the nation's top shortstops and is considered a first-day selection ahead of the 2024 MLB Draft.



IF — Bryce Rainer, Harvard-Westlake (Studio City, Calif.)
A three-time MaxPreps Underclass All-American, Rainer made the Los Angeles Times All-Area team last year and batted .436 with nine doubles.

OF — P.J. Morlando, Summerville (S.C.)
Made the coaches association all-state team last year after batting .463 with six home runs, seven doubles, 28 runs and 19 RBI.

OF — Derek Curiel, Orange Lutheran (Orange, Calif.)
Regarded as the top player in the Class of 2024 by Perfect Game since his freshman season, Curiel batted .358 last year with 32 runs scored.

OF — Slade Caldwell, Valley View (Jonesboro, Ark.)
A force on the mound and at the plate for the Blazers, Caldwell batted .512 with 54 runs scored seven doubles, seven triples and 40 stolen bases. He also had a 7-1 pitching record with 72 strikeouts in 54.1 innings pitched.

OF — Konnor Griffin, Jackson Prep (Jackson, Miss.)
One of the nation's top two-way players, Griffin went 7-1 on the mound for the MAIS Class 6A champions with 81 strikeouts and a 1.38 ERA in 50.2 innings pitched. He also batted .537 with eight home runs, 43 runs and 30 RBI.

OF — Dante Nori, Northville (Mich.)
An extremely fast fielder, Nori has been ranked as the top player in the state for the Class of 2024 for the past three seasons. He earned all-state honors last year by the coaches association.



OF — Michael Mullanix, North Cobb Christian (Kennesaw, Ga.)
An all-state player who led his team to its first state championship last year. A MaxPreps Junior All-American.

UT — Ty Southisene, Basic (Henderson, Nev.)
One of four brothers to play for the Wolves, Southisene earned all-state honors last year while batting .460 with 41 runs scored 11 doubles and 22 RBI.

UT — Carter Johnson, Oxford (Ala.)
An all-state infielder, Johnson led Oxford to a Class 6A state championship while batting .407 with five home runs and 37 RBI. He has a 22-game hitting streak heading into the 2024 season.

UT — Trey Snyder, Liberty North (Liberty, Mo.)
Snyder is a two-sport standout for the Eagles as he also had six interceptions for the football team. He was an all-state shortstop last year for the Class 6 state champions.
