Softball Recap: North Callaway Sets Scoring Season-High Against Wellsville-Middletown

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Callaway). Everything went their way against the Wellsville-Middletown Tigers on Thursday as they made off with a 20-0 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Madyson Gordon was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kymorie Myers, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

North Callaway was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory made it two in a row for North Callaway and bumps their season record up to 5-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Wellsville-Middletown, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, North Callaway will square off against New Bloomfield at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wellsville-Middletown, they will be playing at home against Marion County at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
