Soccer Game Preview: Coffee vs. Thomas County Central

The Coffee Trojans will venture away from home to challenge the Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Coffee will be strutting in after a victory while Thomas County Central will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Coffee turned things around against Jeff Davis on Thursday. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was Coffee who was credited with the win. Coffee got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Jeff Davis' two.

Thomas County Central fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Houston County on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bears by a score of 1-0. The Yellow Jackets' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Coffee's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Thomas County Central, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 2-4.

Coffee beat Thomas County Central by a goal in their previous meeting back in February of 2015, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Coffee since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
