Football Recap: St. Francis Comes Up Short

While it was all tied up 15-15 at halftime, St. Francis was not quite Muir's equal in the second half on Friday. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 22-21 to the Mustangs. The loss leaves the Golden Knights still looking for their first win of the season.

When it comes to explaining why St. Francis lost, don't look at Elijah Wilson. Despite the final result, he rushed for 97 yards and three touchdowns.

Muir was led to victory by Alijah Parker and Trey Gamble. Parker rushed for 64 yards and one TD on only seven carries, while Gamble threw for 217 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

St. Francis' defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Muir, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, St. Francis will head out to take on Loyola at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Muir, they will welcome Glendale at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Mustangs' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
