Shadow Mountain is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took a 37-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tempe on Wednesday.

Shadow Mountain's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Brie Hernandez, who posted eight points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals, and Shonnie Holland, who had eight points along with 18 boards and five blocks. Destinee McTheny also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Meanwhile, Coronado was beaten by Greenway 53-24 on Thursday. The game marked the Dons' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Shadow Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Coronado, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Shadow Mountain might still be hurting after the 48-22 defeat they got from Coronado in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Thankfully for the Matadors, Jayda Begay (who went 8-for-18 en route to 16 points and eight boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
