Football Game Preview: South Park Eagles vs. Apollo Ridge Vikings

The South Park Eagles will challenge the Apollo Ridge Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South Park will be strutting in after a victory while Apollo Ridge will be coming in after a defeat.

South Park headed into their last contest having not scored more than 13 points for four straight, but Ligonier Valley let them put that streak behind them. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 42-21 margin over the Rams on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Apollo Ridge fell victim to South Allegheny and their airtight defense on Friday. They were beaten by the Gladiators 35-0. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 290th, while the Gladiators are ranked 137th).

South Park's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-5. As for Apollo Ridge, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-3.

South Park took their win against Apollo Ridge when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 34-10 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
