Basketball Recap: Magali Jauregui's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pierce over Natomas

If Pierce was riding high fresh off their 52-21 takedown of Mt. Shasta last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pierce Bears fell to the Natomas Nighthawks 47-42.

Pierce lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Magali Jauregui, who went 5 for 12 on her way to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylie Delepierre, who posted four points and five rebounds.

Pierce has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. As for Natomas, their record now sits at 5-6.

Pierce will take on Winters at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Winters will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Pierce surely won't give up without a fight. As for Natomas, they will challenge El Camino at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
