Baseball Game Preview: Central Rockets vs. Huntley Red Raiders

The Central Rockets will square off against the Huntley Red Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Central 4, Huntley 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Friday just wasn't the day for Central's offense. They lost 6-0 to McHenry on Friday. The Rockets have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Aidric Arndt was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

Huntley came out on top against York on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run sixth inning. The Red Raiders walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Dukes. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Raiders.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11-2. As for Huntley, their win bumped their record up to 19-4.

Central was able to grind out a solid victory over Huntley when the teams last played back in May of 2025, winning 6-1. Do the Rockets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
