Football Recap: Olney Comes Up Short

Olney extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 3-6. They took a blow against the Stamford Bulldogs, falling 60-14. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cubs of the 64-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2024.

As for Stamford, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 28.2 points over those games.

Stamford found their leader in sophomore Miles Follis, who threw for 142 yards and two touchdowns on perfect 5-for-5 passing, and also punched in one TD on the ground.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Olney is set to take on their familiar foe Cisco at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Stamford will challenge rival Hawley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
