Lincoln Southwest extended their postseason success on Thursday against Papillion-LaVista. They won by a run and slipped past the Monarchs 5-4. The victory was familiar territory for the Silver Hawks, who have now won nine games in a row.

Maisey McCarty spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brenly Noerrlinger was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Ja'Sara Wilson, who went 3-for-4 with one double.

Lincoln Southwest's win bumped their record up to 34-3. As for Papillion-LaVista, their loss dropped their record down to 29-11.

As of now, neither Lincoln Southwest nor the Monarchs have any future games scheduled.
