Basketball Recap: Lauren Yann's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Chavez over Edison

Chavez was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 43-24 bruising from the Edison Vikings. The Titans were probably out for revenge after losing 50-21 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Chavez's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lauren Yann, who posted ten points. That's the most points Yann has posted since back in November of 2024.

Edison's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aniyah Wilson, who scored 19 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Wilson has scored at least a third of Edison's points. Another player making a difference was Ajaila Jordan, who had 15 points.

Chavez's loss dropped their record down to 3-20. As for Edison, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-9.

Chavez wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 54-28 defeat against Bear Creek on the 23rd. Edison has also already played their next game, a 44-35 loss against Tokay on the 23rd.
