Basketball Recap: New Covenant Academy Takes a Loss

New Covenant Academy lost against Southwestern Academy last Monday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The New Covenant Academy Huskies came up short against the Southwestern Academy Sun, falling 34-10. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Southwestern Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Valza Jusufi led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and 20 rebounds. Jusufi has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 25 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Linh Nguyen, who posted six points and 11 steals.

New Covenant Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Southwestern Academy, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-11.

As of now, neither New Covenant Academy nor Southwestern Academy have any future games scheduled.
