Blue Springs South had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They skirted past the Gretna Dragons 7-5. This was payback for the Jaguars, who suffered a 4-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

Ella Carmack and Cheyenne Burge did most of the damage at the plate: Carmack went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI, while Burge went 2-for-4 with one home run and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Hollister, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Having lost for the first time this season, Gretna fell to 6-1.

Blue Springs South has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Broomfield on the 29th. As for Gretna, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-3 loss against Broken Arrow on the 29th.
