Baseball Recap: Windsor Locks Takes a Loss

Windsor Locks lost to Canton back in April and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Raiders took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Jomar Ortiz put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Zavier Hunt made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Joey Tripp, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Windsor Locks' loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Canton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Windsor Locks will welcome Windsor at 4:00 p.m. on the 26th. As for Canton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Avon at 4:00 p.m. on the 27th.
