Highland has gone a perfect 4-0 against Scotland County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 6:30 p.m. Highland will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

On Thursday, Highland got the win against Knox County by a conclusive 7-1. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Calyn Mathes, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Aspen Scifres, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither Scotland County nor Canton made it on the board until the sixth inning. Scotland County skirted past Canton 4-3.

Makenna Musgrove spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Scotland County's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Lilly Frederick, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Highland's victory bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Scotland County, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.

Highland took their victory against Scotland County when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 21-0 score. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
