Preview: Cameron County Raiders vs. Northern Potter Panthers
Cameron County has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Northern Potter Panthers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Cameron County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Wednesday.
Last Wednesday, Cameron County came up short against Oswayo Valley and fell 35-24. That's two games in a row now that Cameron County has lost by exactly 11 points.
Despite the defeat, Cameron County had strong showings from Elsie Bresslin, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds, and Ava Hilfiger, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Northern Potter humbled Galeton with a 43-9 victory. That looming 43-9 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Northern Potter yet this season.
Cameron County bumped their record down to 2-8 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Northern Potter, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.
Things could have been worse for Cameron County, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 46-31 loss to Northern Potter when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Cameron County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
