Soccer Game Preview: Davis County vs. Pella

The Davis County Mustangs will venture away from home to square off against the Pella Dutch at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Davis County is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Davis County's offense. They lost 6-0 to Ames on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Davis County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 61st, while Ames are ranked first).

Meanwhile, neither Pella nor Norwalk could gain the upper hand on Tuesday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Davis County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4-1. With that draw, Pella's record moves to 4-1-3.

Davis County came out on top in a nail-biter against Pella in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
