Norfolk lost against Lincoln Southeast on Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Panthers might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 17-13 to the Knights, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Even though they lost, the Panthers' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.7 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Eastyn Schroeder made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brynn Sterud, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles.

This is the second loss in a row for Norfolk and nudges their season record down to 2-5. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Lincoln Southeast, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Looking ahead, Norfolk will challenge Columbus at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Discoverers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.2 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lincoln Southeast, they will take on Northwest at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
