The home team had come away the winner the last five times Dawson-Bryant and Fairview had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Hornets sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over the Eagles on Friday. This was payback for the Hornets, who suffered a 16-6 loss the last time these two teams met.
Caden Turner was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Braden Schug was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Dawson-Bryant kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April.
Dawson-Bryant's victory bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Fairview, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 12-14.
