Baseball Recap: Monroe Area Comes Up Short

Monroe Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cherokee Bluff Bears. If the Purple Hurricanes were looking for revenge after losing 5-2 to the Bears when the teams met back in March of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Monroe Area's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Cherokee Bluff, their record is now 10-4.

While Monroe Area had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
