Softball Recap: Coffee Triumphs + How To Watch

Coffee owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Glynn Academy Terrors 2-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Trojans also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2015.

Glynn Academy's batters probably weren't too happy with Maggie Brown, who pitched a no hitter and racked up ten Ks (she gave up three walks). Brown has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Karlee Thomas was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Jocelyn Fender also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Coffee's win ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-1. As for Glynn Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Coffee didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-8 victory against Pierce County on the 16th. As for Glynn Academy, they will challenge Appling County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
