Southeast Polk faced Ankeny Centennial in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Rams blew past the Jaguars 9-1. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 5-3 victory on June 4th.

Southeast Polk is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Ankeny Centennial, they moved to 17-6 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southeast Polk will challenge Johnston at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Dragons will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Rams surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ankeny Centennial, they will be playing at home against Fort Dodge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
