Softball Recap: Queen's Grant Comes Up Short

If Queen's Grant was feeling good fresh off their 21-1 takedown of Monroe two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Stallions came up short against the Mountain Island Charter Raptors on Monday, falling 12-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Stallions have suffered since April 10, 2025.

Kendall Chisholm was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicole Strickland-Mitchell, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Queen's Grant's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 8-4. As for Mountain Island Charter, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-7 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Queen's Grant will host Ambassador Christian School at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mountain Island Charter, they will take on Lake Norman Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
