Soccer Recap: Wheeler Takes a Loss

Wheeler fought the good fight in their overtime match against Cherokee on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cherokee Warriors by a score of 3-2. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Wheeler's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Cherokee, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wheeler will welcome Campbell at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wheeler is facing Campbell at the right time seeing as Campbell is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Cherokee, they will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against Discovery at 8:00 p.m. Cherokee's last four games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
