Baseball Recap: Bloomfield Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Bloomfield extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 7-20. They came out on top against the Newark Academy Minutemen by a score of 6-1. This was a revenge game for the Bengals: when they faced off against the Minutemen last Thursday, they had to take a 12-6 loss.

Miles Jimenez made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Joey Payne, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last two matchups. Jayden Morales was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Bloomfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

As for Newark Academy, they now have a losing record of 11-12. As for they, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-12.
