Volleyball Recap: Hallie Burroughs Key Part of Team Effort in Wizards Win + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fossil Ridge, Windsor was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Poudre Impalas as they made off with a 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Wizards, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

While Windsor won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-8, 25-16.

Windsor's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hallie Burroughs, who had four digs and four aces. Those four aces gave Burroughs a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Smiley, who had 17 digs.

They weren't the only good servers: Windsor was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in five consecutive matches.

Windsor's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Poudre, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-4.

Windsor and Poudre should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings. The Wizards (ranked 23rd) will meet Greeley West (ranked 261st) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Poudre will square off against Bear Creek at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (83 vs. 305).
